The Butterfly Sprinkler is excellent. This is a very effective watering system. It uses about 1/3 the water of standard sprinkler/irrigation systems. The treads fit a standard American 1/2 inch pipe threads (most home irrigation systems use this diameter). The water is broken up into small droplets that gently waters a 25 foot diameter area. It is designed for low pressure water systems such as a well. Typically, community water service is between 50 - 60 psi operating at full volume creates a foggy mist which is great for seedling or saturating the surrounding air with moisture. Reducing the water volume creates a gentle rain shower that allows the soil and plants to adsorb the water. This type of system has been in use in Asia for quite a few years now and it is very popular, especially with small farms.
